DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) is a type of therapy for individuals who experience their emotions very intensely. DBT aims to help people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as assist them in learning to change their lives, including their unhelpful behavior. DBT is effective in helping individuals who have difficulty tolerating distress, managing and regulating their emotions, and interpersonal relationships. DBT is most commonly used to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD,) anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal behavior, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD.)
EDMR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy enables individuals to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress resulting from trauma. EMDR involves moving your eyes in a specific way while you process distressing events. This method helps individuals heal more quickly from events that usually take years to recover from.
CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) is a talking therapy that can help individuals manage their problems by changing their way of thinking and behaving. It is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and actions are interconnected. CBT aims to help individuals deal with overwhelming problems more positively. CBT is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression.
